Love is in the Fabric: Valentine's Themed Slipcover Inspiration and Trendy Fabrics for a Romantic Home Makeover

A gorgeous red stripe sofa slipcover. The red flange detail adds extra softness and femininity to the strong stripe. This sofa is made by Sophie Conran London.

I love any reason to find custom slipcover inspiration and ideas for slipcover fabric choices and design details. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, what better time than now to focus on gorgeous pink and red fabrics and feminine slipcover details? Below I’ve linked all of the slipcover inspiration I came across, past projects we’ve done, as well as fun and feminine fabric selections that would be perfect for slipcovering, custom pillows, bedding, and cushions.

This is a favorite of mine - a sweet and soft chair slipcover we made for a client. The ruffled skirt complements the shabby chic fabric, adding a touch of romance. A ruffled skirt is a great choice if you’re looking to infuse softness and femininity into your custom slipcover. The finishing touch? Delicate bows for the closures add an irresistibly cute flourish! The Shabby Chic website has an excellent selection of washed cottons and linens that are perfect for this style of slipcover.

Did someone say pink sofa? A pink ticking stripe is perfect for those who want a French country feel for their sofa slipcovers. Above I’ve linked an excellent fabric choice for this application by Kate Forman. It’s 100% linen - ideal for a more casual, natural look. This stripe pairs beautifully with flowers and a glass of white wine!

Next up - a few chair slipcovers to get you inspired.

The Maker & Son blog featured this stunning pink velvet chair made for Skye Gyngell. The velvet contrast piping adds a fabulous pop.

Looking to reinvent your dining room? Let these fabulous dining chairs spotted on Caitlin Wilson’s website inspire you. We can slipcover Parsons chairs to give your dining set a new look and feel.

From a strong stripe to a soft flower - these are just a few of my favorite pink fabrics! A couple of these have even come through our shop recently.

A client of ours had us create a table skirt using the Large Marigold print by Alex Conroy. We’ve also used it for a fun sofa slipcover!

I hope this post gave you some inspiration for your next slipcover project! I’ll send you off with a sweet little pink and cream gingham lumbar pillow we made last summer. Too cute!

Until next time,

Jessica
